Up for sale, a 1982 Fender JV "Order Made" Telecaster TL69-115 WAL in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. One of the absolute rarest and feature-rich Fenders from the the first quarter of the first year of Fender Japan production, this Telecaster is jaw-dropping in its top tier features, boasting gold hardware, the same Fullerton factory USA-made pickups and CTS pots as the earliest American Vintage models produced across the pond, and a satin nitro lacquer finish over a solid walnut body.
A non-catalog model produced as part of Fender Japan's nascent "Order Made" program, this Telecaster was part of the highly regarded JV (Japanese Vintage) series of instruments from the Fujigen factory. This double whammy of rarity and collectability is notable in its own right, and the solid walnut construction is a virtually unseen variant, highly likely 1 of 1 produced and otherwise undocumented in Fender Japan's history.
The solid walnut body is paired with a walnut neck and slab ebony fingerboard, yielding a bold, lively natural acoustic quality with clear note attack and a complex midrange character. The gray bobbin Fullerton USA pickups have ample chewy treble cut and zing at the bridge, enhanced by both solid brass saddles and a brass nut, with a sweet percussive quality in the neck position. This JV "Order Made" Telecaster TL69-115 WAL has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
