Up for sale, a 1982 Fender Jazz Bass ‘62 vintage reissue model JB62-75 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in the first year of Fender Japan instrument production, this "Japanese Vintage" (JV) series bass is a rare example and a higher-tiered model. Extremely accurate to vintage spec, with the majority of examples sold only to the Japanese domestic market, features include black bobbin pickups, cloth-covered leads, long stem clover button tuners, and spiral (threaded) bridge saddles.
Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood pickguard, and this bass weighs 9lbs 2oz. The original pair of black bobbin single coil pickups are wound to recreate the best qualities of genuine vintage Jazz Bass, with plenty of midrange growl and burp, top end detail and fundamental power. This JB62-75 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender U, measuring .785” 1st fret, .935” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, faint wear on frets 1-4
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 1/2”, bone
-Tuners: Clover buttons, full-size baseplates, long stems, reverse geared
-Serialization: “Made in Japan” on peghead face, JV-prefix serial on neck plate, blue “75” sticker on back of headstock denotes original model tier and price (¥75,000)
-Factory Markings: Neck heel pencil dated 7-10-82
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Black bobbin single coil pickup x2
-Harness: Full-size Japanese pots date to April, 1982, cloth-covered leads

-Plastics: Three-ply dark red tortoise pickguard, pointer knobs
Cosmetic wear on the gloss Olympic White finish is limited to small "crunch" on the top edge to the bass-side of the rear strap button, and just a handful of minor marks on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss, with a few shallow nicks along the profile length that have no impact on playability.
A modern Fender-branded gigbag is included.
