Up for sale, a 1982 Fender Deluxe Reverb in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with a two-button footswitch and padded cover. This vintage Deluxe Reverb is a rare example with "Black Panel" cosmetics that were offered from 1981-82, recalling the original Deluxe Reverbs of the early '60s. Under the hood, this amp is identical to the last iteration of its Silverface predecessors, boasting the pull Boost feature on the Volume knob, and Boost and Line Out jacks on the back panel.
This amp excels at delivering sparkling, detailed cleans with great headroom, and the lush reverb accentuates the chiming, smooth treble response. Both channels sound distinct and strong, and turning things up past 5 on the Volume dial introduces glassy overdriven textures and a touch of compression. It's everything you could want from a vintage Fender amp.
The circuit is very original and has also been professionally serviced for optimal tone and reliability with numerous high quality Sprague Orange Drop capacitors in the preamp and a few low-noise metal film resistors as well. The original Schumacher transformers date between late '81 and early 1982, and visible date codes on the CTS pots date to the 5th week of '82. The power supply retains its still viable original filter caps. With the exception of the V1 preamp tube, the entire original USA-made Fender-branded tube set is intact.
The original Pyle-made 12" speaker has a clean black frame, blue foil Fender label on the ceramic magnet, and date stamp on the edge of the frame from the 10th week of '82. The tube chart is also intact on the inside of the cabinet. Cosmetically, this amp is exceedingly clean as the photos can attest, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The Black Panel faceplate is stunningly well-kept with near mint silkscreened text and the full complement of witch hat knobs with gleaming silver caps. All of the stock hardware is present including the handle caps, chassis straps, raised logo, and sphinx glides (feet).
A modern Fender two-button footswitch is included, along with a padded slip cover.
