Up for sale, a 1982 Fender "Dan Smith" Stratocaster Hardtail in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a molded hardshell case. A great guitar for those seeking one of the "Dan Smith" three-knob Stratocasters produced for only a couple short years in the early '80s, this model represented a return to form as Fender strove to show a marked improvement in quality, returning to its roots with the reintroduction of a four-bolt neck plate, a small headstock, and redesigned pickups.

Tonewoods include an ash body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard, ensuring a lively, authoritative tonal response with great midrange heft and articulate treble snap. The trio of alnico magnet single coils includes the celebrated X-1 pickup in the bridge, delivering extra body and bite, with bell-like harmonics and richness in the neck position. The five-way switch makes it easy to capture those pinched tones in positions 2 and 4 on the toggle for a bit of thinned out squawk. This Hardtail Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 13oz and balances well on a strap, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The neck profile retains its smooth gloss, free of palm wear with a few shallow nicks central to the carve behind frets 1-3.

A modern molded hardshell case is included.
