Up for sale, a 1982 Fender JV Stratocaster ‘57 vintage reissue model ST57-65 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in the first year of Fender Japan production, this “Japanese Vintage” (JV) series guitar features the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.
Weighing 7lbs 4oz, tonewoods include an alder body and a one-piece maple neck. Extremely accurate to vintage spec and sold only within Japan and to select international territories, the USA-made Fullerton-era pickups are a set of the coveted red bobbins, delivering an array of vital Strat tonalities with plenty of chime and clarity.
The bridge pickup has a bouncy sparkle and clear note attack, the neck is fat with a woody chop, while the “in-between” positions on the three-way pickup selector switch yield great chirp and honk.
