Up for sale, a 1982 Burny Super Grade RLG-50 “‘59 Model” in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Produced under the umbrella of the Fernandes company in Japan, Burny has long been lauded for making some of the finest “lawsuit” LP instruments, with great adherence to vintage Gibson spec and premium fit and finish work.
Weighing 9lbs 6oz, this RLG-50 boasts the traditional tonewood complement of a solid mahogany body, carved maple top with birdseye maple veneer, mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fretboard. The L-8000 humbuckers are Burny’s early ‘80s spin on the PAF platform, delivering smooth treble bark, clear low-mids and growling cut. This RLG-50 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Mahogany
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .850” 1st fret, .975” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, pearloid flared trapezoid inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 11/16”, bone
