Up for sale, a 1982 Aria Pro II FV-550 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted at the Matsumoku factory during the “lawsuit” era of Japanese guitar production, this Aria Pro II Flying V has been upgraded with a pair of Gibson 490R/498T humbuckers and a premium wiring harness with USA-spec CTS pots and a Switchcraft switch.
Tonewoods include a mahogany body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard, and this FV-550 weighs 7lbs 10oz, with good natural warmth and growl. The 490R is Gibson's Modern Classic humbucker, featuring Alnico II magnets and similar in response to a PAF, yet with more midrange emphasis. The 498T Hot Alnico bridge position pickup has Alnico V magnets, with plenty of muscle and growl, well-suited for high gain scenarios. This Aria FV-550 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
