Up for sale, a 1981 Tokai Love Rock Custom LC100 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Lifton-style hardshell case. Originally introduced in 1977, the Love Rock is Tokai’s enduringly-popular take on the LP platform. This Love Rock LC100 faithfully captures the look and feel of a ‘50s Les Paul Custom with a pair of PAF-style Goto humbuckers and a mahogany body capped with a carved mahogany top.
The all-mahogany body yields a distinctive fundamental warmth and growl, and the Goto “Patent Applied For” humbuckers meter at ~8k ohms, delivering classic Les Paul-style tonalities. The neck pickup is particularly fat and woody, and the bridge pickup has a sweet bite with focused midrange aggression. This LC100 weighs 8lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
