Up for sale, a 1981 Greco Super Real model JB800 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Heralding from the most collectable (and brief) era of Greco production and the arguable pinnacle of Fujigen design, this Super Real JB800 was made just prior to the birth of Fender Japan and the famed JV models (produced at the same factory). The Super Real instruments are noted for the faithfulness and adherence to vintage spec, capturing the finer points of an early ’60s Jazz Bass. Hardware includes spiral (threaded) saddles and “reverse” long-stem clover button tuning machines with full-size baseplates.
Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, and this JB800 weighs 8lbs 14oz. The pair of PU-JB single coil pickups deliver quintessential Jazz Bass tonalities, with plenty growl and upper midrange burp, a clear treble register and broad, defined low end, particularly with the neck pickup favored. This JB800 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation.

Cosmetic wear on the gloss Sunburst finish includes light scuffing along the pick path, buckle rash on the back, and a number of minor marks on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back and body perimeter. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss, with a few shallow nicks that have no impact on playability.
A faux leather padded gigbag is included.
