A descendant of the Marauder and S-1 lineage, the Sonex was an accessible Gibson electric guitar for the budding '80s rocker, made with a Resonwood body tested to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from −40 °F to 180 °F, and a mahogany tonewood core for sonic integrity. The solid Silver finish is an exceptionally rare variant, with production purportedly limited to 100 instruments.
