Up for sale, a 1980s Washburn Force 42 headless bass in excellent original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original flight case. This Japanese-made Washburn is quintessential ‘80s cool through and through, boasting a headless design with a pair of high-output passive pickups and sleek all-Black aesthetics.
Featuring a set-neck design, this Force 42 dishes out impressive natural resonance and sustain, weighing 8lbs 8oz with a mahogany body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The passive humbucking pickups evoke EMGs aesthetically but have a sound all their own, big and burly with plenty of low end power and breadth, never getting overly wooly and still retaining plenty of smooth top end presence. This Force 42 headless bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Round C, measuring .870” 1st fret, .945” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 12” radius, dot inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, leveled/crowned, no wear
-Scale Length: 33 1/2“

The gloss Black finish shows minor buckle rash on the back at the bass-side waist, light pick scuffing on top, and some lesser marks on the top and perimeter at the lower bout. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
The original Washburn-branded flight case is included.
