Up for sale, a 1980s PGM Moon ST-177 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A boutique Japanese brand rarely seen outside of its country of origin, Moon instruments are expertly crafted and prized for their premium componentry/workmanship. This ST-117 is a very rare, high-tiered iteration of Moon’s Superstrat platform, boasting a solid ash body, maple neck, and slab 22-fret ebony fretboard.

The trio of passive Bartolini pickups are smooth, rich, and detailed. Each pickup setting is distinct and sparkling, and a push/pull Volume knob cuts the number of coil windings in half for more mellow, vintage sound. The Tone control has an additional push/pull, engaging the bridge pickup when the neck pickup is selected for that elusive Bridge + Neck Strat sound that's equal parts snappy and round. Weighing 8lbs 14oz, this Moon has plenty of natural sustain and midrange authority, professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, spot-on intonation, and low action.

The gloss Trans Red finish highlights the dynamic grain in the ash body, and cosmetic wear includes buckle worming on the back, a few finish scratches on top, and some minor dings on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss, with a few shallow marks along the profile length that have no impact on playability.

A gigbag is included.
