Up for sale, a 1980s Morris W-100D left-handed vintage dreadnought in excellent condition, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted in Japan, this premium dreadnought is a signature model for Takao Horiuchi of the Japanese folk group Alice, boasting fit and finish work and ornate marquetry very much in-line with Martin’s top-tier offerings.

Tonewoods include an X-braced solid spruce top, jacaranda sides, a three-piece jacaranda/figured chestnut back, and a mahogany neck capped with a bound striped ebony fingerboard. Tonally, this W-100D is rich and well-defined, with plenty of power: the sound is well-balanced and dynamically responsive, with a full, textured low end that doesn’t get overly boomy and a present top that offers crisp-yet-smooth cut. This W-100D weighs 5lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The ambered gloss finish exhibits light pick wear and some minor marks on top and similarly light wear on the back and rims. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth to the palm, with a handful of shallow marks along the profile length that don’t distract the palm while fretting.
