Up for sale, a late 1980s Kramer Richie Sambora RS Jersey Star in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Released during the peak of Bon Jovi’s popularity, Kramer’s RS “Jersey Star” was created in direct collaboration with Richie Sambora. As Bon Jovi’s lead guitarist and the co-writer of their massive hits, this RS model is feature-rich, geared for massive chords and singing lead work. And while Sambora can take credit for the genesis of the model, it's Wet Leg's Hester Chambers that's been its marquee player in recent years.
Weighing 8lbs 4oz with a Pacer-style alder body and rounded contours, the guitar is loaded with a trio of hotly wound humbuckers coupled to a five-way pickup selector. A DiMarzio DP155 Tone Zone has been installed in the bridge position, offering boosted lows, a punchy and warm midrange character and a notably dynamic response given its high output. The DiMarzio pairs well with the original two humbuckers (Neck/Middle), with a global two-way coil tap mini toggle and a “blower switch” that bypasses the single Volume knob and sends the signal directly to the output jack. This Richie Sambora RS benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
