Up for sale, a 1980s Kramer American Stagemaster Custom in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This premium USA-made Kramer is built to shred, featuring maple neck-through construction with alder body wings and a 22-fret ebony fingerboard, boasting several premium touches including a genuine Floyd Rose tremolo, Schaller tuning machines, and Seymour Duncan SSH pickup complement.
The Seymour Duncan pickups include a pair of SSL-1 single coils and JB humbucker: The JB (TB4) is SD’s most popular pickup and the original hot-rodded humbucker, delivering full, powerful lows, crisp and detailed highs, and an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords and translates to a singing, vocal-like quality for melodic playing. The pair of SSL-1 single coils have classic single coil sparkle and spank, pairing well with the humbucker (which can also be coil tapped). The “Rhythm-to-Lead” Bridge Bypass mini-toggle can function as both a blower and killswitch depending on which pickups are actively engaged. The bridge humbucker was wound by the venerable “Queen of the SD Custom Shop,” Maricela Juarez, as identified by the “J” on the baseplate sticker. Juarez has wound pickups for artists including Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons, George Harrison, and Slash, to name just a few. This Stagemaster Custom weighs 8lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
