Up for sale, a 1990's Fernandes model TEJ-95S T-style vintage electric guitar in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A Japanese-made instrument with Fernandes' celebrated Sustainer pickup and active circuitry, this TEJ-95S features a single bridge position humbucker, and a pair of mini toggles governing the Sustainer single-coil sized blade pickup at the neck. The guitar features a basswood body, maple neck, and bound rosewood fretboard, for a balanced, smooth acoustic tone. The humbucker has plenty of cut and punch, and the Sustainer essentially acts like a built-in Ebow when engaged, offering virtually endless sustain by continually vibrating the strings. The Sustainer pickup is coupled to a three-way toggle selecting the harmonic above the fundamental pitch, a mix of the fundamental and harmonic, or just the fundamental. The guitar weighs 7lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh strings, low action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a slender D-shaped profile carve with full shoulders, measuring .785" deep at the 1st fret and .875" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features medium jumbo fretwire that has plenty of meat and crown, showing just a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-6. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", and the roller nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The headstock features a custom embossed truss rod cover and original black Gotoh tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone knobs capped with black knurled knobs and two mini toggles (a two-way to engage the Sustainer, and a three-way to select the frequency being sustained). The Strat-style vibrato is slightly recessed into the body, offering a smooth response for warbles and deeper dives. The gloss Black finish is framed by cream binding on top, and cosmetic wear is limited to pick scuffing on the treble side of the sturm path, one small finish chip on the back lower bout body edge, and a few additional shallow dings and minor finish scuffs on the body, mostly relegated to the back. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.A gigbag is included.
