Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 1980's Fernandes BG-180 10 string Bich in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. 100% original save for a pair of vintage Bill Lawrence L90 blade humbuckers, this BG-180 was expertly crafted in Japan, replicating the neck through construction, premium tonewoods, and control array of the BC Rich Bich 10 string model.

Boasting mahogany body wings, a maple neck through core and a thick slab rosewood fingerboard with cloud inlay, this Fernandes has a rich natural acoustic quality with excellent sustain and an incredibly versatile control array. Each pickup has its own dedicated preamp to boost the signal, with a six-position Varitone control, a Phase mini toggle, and the usual Volume/Tone controls for maximum sonic flexibility for chiming cleans or ripping gain. Lightweight at 7lbs 12oz, this BG-180 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with accurate intonation and low action.

The maple neck has a chunky C-shaped profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges and round shoulders in every register, measuring .895” deep at the 1st fret and .920” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features pearl cloud inlay and stock medium jumbo fretwire that plays cleanly up the 24 5/8" scale with a straight neck and ideally adjusted, responsive truss rod. The carved bone nut measures 42mm (1.650") in width. The headstock and lower bout feature vintage "beehive" Grover Super Rotomatic tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The headstock face also boasts a rosewood veneer, with one nick of note on the edge and light cloudiness in the clear coat of the gloss.

The stock electronics work as they should, and as the Bill Lawrence pickups are a two-conductor design, the two mini coil tap switches aren't currently in the circuit but are still present (four-conductor wiring would be required to utilize the taps). Hardware includes the wraparound Tune-o-Matic bridge with bright chrome plating, showing patina on the treble-side mounting stud. Cosmetic wear on the gloss finish is limited to a couple dings at the treble-side waist on top and also on the body points, along with a spot of light buckle rash at the bass-side waist. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss finish.

The original hardshell case is included.
