Up for sale, a 1980's Fernandes BG-180 10 string Bich in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This BG-180 was expertly crafted in Japan, replicating the neck through construction, premium tonewoods, and control array of the BC Rich Bich 10 string model.Boasting mahogany body wings, a maple neck-through core and a thick slab rosewood fingerboard with cloud inlay, this Fernandes has a rich natural acoustic quality with excellent sustain and an incredibly versatile control array. Each original DiMarzio pickup has its own dedicated preamp to boost the signal, along with a six-position Varitone control, a Phase mini toggle, dedicated Coil Taps for each humbucker, and the usual Volume/Tone controls for maximum sonic flexibility. Everything from chiming cleans to rich, biting gain is at the player's fingertips. Lightweight at only 7lbs 9oz, this BG-180 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with accurate intonation and low action. The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges and round shoulders in every register, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .920” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features pearl cloud inlay and stock medium jumbo fretwire that has plenty of meat, showing only very light flattening on the crowns beneath the string courses on frets 1-7. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 5/8" scale with a straight neck and ideally adjusted, responsive truss rod. The carved bone nut measures 42mm (1.650") in width. The headstock and lower bout feature vintage "beehive"-style Grover Super Rotomatic tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The versatile electronics all function as intended, and hardware includes the wraparound Tune-o-Matic bridge with chrome plating which displays only a light dusting of patina, particularly on the mounting studs. Cosmetic wear on the gloss finish includes a spot of light buckle rash at the bass-side waist, a number of minor dings along the body edges, and a few finish scratches on the body as a whole. There is also a small area of finish touchup adjacent to the input jack. The neck retains its smooth nigh flawless gloss on the profile.A padded gigbag is included.
