1980s Fender Stratocaster Partscaster Order Made Sonic Blue w/ Yngwie Pickups, Japan MIJ Fujigen

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 1980s Fender Stratocaster partscaster, pairing an "Order Made" ST57-700 body with an ST62 neck. Visually and sonically unique, this guitar boasts a drastically aged Sonic Blue body that now presents as a shade of avocado, loaded with the same electronics seen on Fender's early Yngwie Malmsteen Strats. Both the body and neck hail from the "Made in Japan" era of Fender Japan production at the famed Fujigen factory.

With a basswood body (a feature also in-line with Fender's Yngwie models) this Strat is lightweight at only 7lbs 3oz. The pickups comprise a pair of USA-made DiMarzio HS-3 (DP117) stacked single coil pickups in the neck and bridge positions, with Fender Japan's ST-Current single coil sandwiched in between. The Dimarzio DP117s offers hum-free performance with a broad low end that's warm and tight with a smooth, glassy treble response. These qualities combine perfectly with a heavily distorted amp, and the DP117 pickups have a staggered pole  design. This Strat has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The Sonic Blue finish has shifted far from its original hue, with some of the blue peeking through along the premier and in the neck pocket. Cosmetic wear includes a number of tiny nicks on the lower bout on top, dings along the body perimeter, and limited buckle worming on the back adjacent to the tremolo cavity. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss.

A gigbag is included.
