Up for sale, a 1980's Charvel by Jackson Model 6 vintage electric guitar in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced at the Chu Shin factory in Japan from 1986-1989, and rarely seen outside its country of orgin, the Model 6 was Charvel's top tier designation built for shred, with rock maple neck through body construction, poplar body wings, and a thick slab rosewood fingerboard. The pickup compliment includes a Jackson J50BC ceramic magnet humbucker in the bridge position, and two J200 stacked single coils in the middle and neck. Paired with the Model 6's active mid boost circuitry, and featuring individual on/off toggles for each pickup yielding maximum tonal versatility, this Model 6 offers crisp, authoritative cleans, staying punchy and tight in high-gain scenarios. Weighing 8lbs 11oz, this Charvel has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, spot-on intonation, and fast action. The quatersawn rock maple neck has a slender and fast-feeling D-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and rolled fretboard edges, measuring .780” deep at the 1st fret and .850” at the 12th. The bound slab rosewood fretboard features a compound 12-16” radius, pearloid shark fin inlay, and original pristine jumbo fretwire. The scale length measures 25 1/2", and the phenolic locking nut measures 1 5/8” in width, holding pitch exceptionally well against the most dynamic of dives with the stock Jackson-branded Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo system. On the bound headstock, the original black Jackson-branded Gotoh-made tuners are present and turn smoothly. All of the electronics work as they should, with Master Volume and Tone knobs as well as a Mid Boost knob, with individual on/off mini toggles for each pickup. The hardware is quite clean, and the raised Jackson logos on the pickup covers retain most of their white silkscreening. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black Cherry finish is limited to a single larger finish chip on the bass side lower bout edge, a few stray tiny marks in the finish on the body parameter, and a few light scuffs in the clear coat of the gloss mostly relegated to the back. The neck profile sports a pristine matching smooth gloss finish. The original faux leather gigbag is included.
