Up for sale, a 1980's Charvel by Jackson Model 3 electric guitar in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, with a metallic Electric Blue gloss finish. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan and sold exclusively to the Japanese domestic market, the Model 3 is a well-crafted shred machine. This top-notch Charvel features a bolt-on quartersawn rock maple neck, a thick slab rosewood fingerboard, and a basswood body. The bridge pickup is a Jackson J90C ultra high-output, distortion class humbucker with an accentuated low frequency response. The pair of single coils are Jackson J100s, delivering classic Strat articulation and snap in the neck and middle positions. The five-way blade pickup selector switch offers a variety of voicing options via the HSS configuration, yielding vintage-flavored single coil cut and thick, ripping drive. Weighing 8lbs 5oz, this Model 3 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, spot-on intonation, and fast action. The quartersawn rock maple neck has a slim, fast-feeling D shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .770” deep at the 1st fret and .860” at the 12th. The thick slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard features a compound 12-16” radius, dot inlay, and the original jumbo fretwire. The frets have their full factory height and plenty of meat, showing just a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3 and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The scale length measures 25 1/2", and the phenolic nut measures 1 5/8” in width, just forward of the locking nut which holds pitch exceptionally well against the most dynamic of dives with the tremolo. The headstock retains the original black Gotoh-made and Jackson-branded tuning machines. All of the electronics work as they should, with Master Volume and Tone knobs, and a five-way pickup selector switch governing the Jackson HSS pickup array. All of the original black hardware is present including the Jackson-branded and Floyd Rose-licensed vibrato unit, complete with a chrome arm. The metallic Electric Blue gloss finish is 100% original with no touchup or overspray, with very slight aging of the clear coat for a faintly greened hue, and light marks and scuffs mostly relegated to the sides and lower bout on the back. The neck profile sports an incredibly clean and smooth semi gloss finish with just one nick central to the carve behind fret 5 that doesn't distract the palm while fretting.A vintage faux leather gigbag is included.
