Up for sale, a 1980's Charvel by Jackson Model 2M electric guitar in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan as part of a licensing agreement between IMC and Charvel/Jackson, the Model 2M is a pure, no-frills Super Strat with a single Jackson 90C humbucker, single Volume knob, and TRS-101 Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo. With the locking tremolo differentiating the Model 2 from the Model 1, the "M" suffix model also boasts a slab 22 fret maple fretboard (as opposed to the usual rosewood) and is a particularly rare iteration. The tonewood pairing of a basswood body and maple neck delivers a balanced, articulate natural sound channeled through the 90C ceramic magnet humbucker for plenty of high gain crunch. Weighing 8lbs, this Charvel has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, spot-on intonation, and fast action. The quatersawn rock maple neck has a slender and fast-feeling D shaped profile carve with just enough fullness in the shoulders, measuring .765” deep at the 1st fret and .895” at the 12th. The thick slab maple fretboard features a 12-16" compound radius with dot inlays and original jumbo fretwire. The frets have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear. The frets have ample meat and crown, playing cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length measures 25 1/2“, and the graphite nut measures 42mm in width (1.660"), just forward of the locking nut which works in concert with the Floyd Rose. On the headstock, the original black Jackson-branded Gotoh-made tuners are present and turn smoothly. The electronics work as they should, with a single Volume knob coupled to the Jackson humbucker. The TRS-101 Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo is particularly clean with a very smooth response, complete with a modern vibrato arm that threads properly. The neck plate has clean chrome plating, and the Black gloss finish shows pick scuffing on the treble side of the pick path, with one finish chip of note near the rear strap button and a few additional dings on the body perimeter and edge of the treble-side body horn. The neck profile is smooth, with some finish discoloration and palm wear through the gloss on the treble side of the profile carve.
