Up for sale, a late 1980s Charvel by Jackson Dinky Custom DK-085-SSH in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and sporting a distinctive Blue Crackle finish; this well-crafted Superstrat is built to shred.Essentially a revision of the Model 3 Charvel platform, the DK-065-SSH features a yellow poplar body, quartersawn rock maple neck, and thick slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard. The bridge pickup is a Jackson J90C distortion class humbucker with an accentuated low frequency response. The pair of single coils are Jackson J100s, delivering classic Strat articulation and snap in the neck and middle positions. The five-way blade pickup selector switch offers a variety of voicing options via the SSH configuration, yielding vintage-flavored single coil cut and thick, ripping drive. Weighing 8lbs 7oz, this Charvel has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, spot-on intonation and slinky action. The quartersawn rock maple neck has a slim, fast-feeling D-shaped profile carve with full shoulders, measuring .710” deep at the 1st fret and .840” at the 12th. The slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard features a compound 12-16” radius, shark fin inlay, and flawless original jumbo fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly in all registers up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The scalloped neck heel offers additional access to the highest frets, and the locking nut measures 42mm (1.650”) in width, holding pitch exceptionally well against the most dynamic of dives from the stock tremolo system. The headstock retains the original black Gotoh-made and Jackson-branded tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. All of the electronics work as they should, with Master Volume and Tone knobs and a five-way pickup selector switch governing the Jackson SSH pickup array. All of the original black hardware is present and clean, including the pair of knurled knobs and the Charvel-branded, Schaller-made and Floyd Rose-licensed FLC-202 tremolo, complete with its original arm.Cosmetic wear on the gloss Blue Crackle finish includes a number of chips and dings along the body perimeter, the most prominent of which are adjacent to the input jack, as well as an area of buckle rash on the back central to the waist and a handful of faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original Charvel-branded gold padded gigbag is included.
