Up for sale, a 1980s Casio CZ-101 digital synthesizer in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original cover. Delightfully "80s", this underrated little synth has an arsenal of analog-esque qualities thanks to Casio’s patented phase distortion synthesis. Initially designed as an affordable option for the working musician, the CZ-101 has since been employed by numerous mainstream acts for its extensive sound modulation capabilities and distinct sonic quality.
Programming and modifying waveforms in the Data Entry section is fairly intensive, but can yield unique and inspiring results. Portamento and Vibrato effects are available, as well as built-in noise and ring modulation. In the Parameter section, three sets of eight-stage envelopes are provided, consisting of Digital Controlled Oscillator (DCO), Digital Controlled Waveform (DCW), and Digital Controlled Amplitude (DCA). Connections included 1/4“ Line Out, Headphone Out, and MIDI In/Out. The unit can be powered via 9v adapter or six D batteries (not included). Strap buttons come stock in true '80s keytar fashion.
Cosmetically, this CZ-101 is exceptionally clean, with minty graphics and all of the buttons intact. The original Casio-branded silver carry cover is included.
