Up for sale, a 1990s Burny REX-80 in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell shell. Produced in Japan by Fernandes under the Burny banner, this finely-crafted iteration of the Explorer platform features mahogany body/neck construction with a rosewood fretboard, loaded with a pair of VH-2 humbuckers.
The all-mahogany construction gives this REX-80 plenty of natural midrange warmth and growl, and these qualities are faithfully captured by the original pair of VH-2 humbuckers. These pickups are wound in the PAF range, delivering spongy lows, detailed trebles, and a subtle scoop in the midrange. Weighing 7lbs 10oz, this REX-80 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Natural finish has faint buckle rash on the back at the bass-side waist, one prominent scratch on top central to the lower bout, and a number of minor dings and finish scratches on the body as a whole, most prominent along the lower bout perimeter and on the back. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss, with a few shallow scuffs central to the carve behind frets 3-8 that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
The original black tolex hardshell case with form-fit green plush interior is included. There are a couple stickers on the lid.
