Up for sale, a 1980 Yamaha L-5 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. This dreadnought was crafted at the Yamaha factory in Hamamatsu, Japan under the supervision of renowned luthier Terumi “Terry” Nakamoto, arguably the most prominent name attached to Yamaha’s mid-century guitar production.

This dreadnought features a traditional tonewood complement comprising an X-braced Ezo spruce top, rosewood back and sides, and a mahogany neck capped with a bound ebony fingerboard. The guitar offers strong projection and string to string balance. The low end is bold and focused, and the trebles have a clear, smooth quality. A piezo undersaddle pickup has also been installed. This L-5 weighs 5lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

This guitar is crack-free, and cosmetic wear on the gloss Natural finish is limited to faint scuffing along the strum path, a handful of minor dings on top, and a few light finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags and case candy.
