Up for sale, a 1980 Ibanez George Benson signature model GB10 in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced at the venerable Fujigen factory in Japan, the GB10 is Ibanez’s longest running model, introduced in 1977, featuring a compact, fully hollow archtop design with a 14 1/2" lower bout width. Tonewoods include a spruce top, maple back and sides, a three-piece maple neck, and a bound ebony fretboard.
Acoustically, this Ibanez has a smooth, woody warmth with a noticeably present midrange and shimmering top end. Designed in conjunction with George Benson, the floating pickups have a full, round sound, specifically tailored to mitigate feedback while delivering sweet, clear treble articulation. Weighing 6lbs 15oz, this George Benson GB10 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 flatwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
