Up for sale, a 1980 Greco GO-III Speed Way in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Made concurrently with the Ibanez Musician guitars at Japan's famed Fujigen factory, this Greco is an expertly crafted instrument with unique, non-catalog specs, tracking most closely to a GO-III 1500 with set neck construction, vine inlay on the rosewood fingerboard, gold-plated hardware and an HSH pickup configuration. Tonewoods include a maple top and mahogany back with a pair of walnut stringers, with a set maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard. The pickups include a pair of PU-3D humbuckers and a centrally located PU-250 single coil, all wired to a six-way rotary pickup selector switch, with dedicated Volume and Tone controls for each pickup. There's a woody cut and clear, glassy sound in every pickup position. The rotary pickup selector covers a broad tonal spectrum from fatter neck pickup heft to single coil sparkle to bridge pickup growl and authority. There’s also a nice spank and cut when the single coil is paired with either humbucker. Weighing 9lbs 8oz, this Greco has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
