Up for sale, a 1980 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Les Paul Deluxe weighs 10lbs 4oz, delivering great natural sustain, loaded with the original mini humbucker pair. These pickups are a perfect blend of humbucker and single coil tonalities, enhanced by the maple/mahogany body construction with both wooly bark and great treble cut. The top end snaps and sparkles, while the bass register stays tight and focused. This Les Paul Deluxe has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple (three-piece)
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .845” 1st fret, 1.010” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, pearloid flared trapezoid inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, refret, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 11/16”, bone (upgraded)
-Tuners: Kluson Deluxe double-line (vintage-spec tulip button replacements)
Body Specs:
-Wood: Maple, mahogany
-Pickups: Mini humbuckers x2, Pat # baseplates, 1980 ink stamp on neck pickup
-Harness: CTS pots date to late ‘79 and early ‘80
-Hardware: Nashville bridge, stopbar (chrome-plated, both modern)
-Plastics: Black speed knobs, cream pickguard
The bridge pickup route has been ever so slightly enlarged, just enough to squeeze in a full-size humbucker, and there are four additional small mounting holes for a humbucker pickup ring adjacent to the original, reinstalled mini humbucker.
The gloss Ebony finish has some finish chips along the lower bout perimeter, buckle rash on the back, and some light scuffs and minor marks from use. The neck profile exhibits some palm wear down to the bare maple and some shallow marks worn smooth through play.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included. The original handle is present, and all but one of the latches is functional.
