Up for sale, a 1980 Fernandes FPM-80 “Bomber Bass” in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. Particularly rare and only produced from roughly 1978-80, this bass features exceptional Japanese craftsmanship with a rich, broad acoustic tone and smooth, rumbling low end accentuated by the punch and articulation of the split coil pickups.
An absolutely thunderous sounding instrument, the large brass saddles and aluminum nut increase the top end articulation, and the seven-ply maple/walnut neck through construction yields incredible sustain, with midrange complexity and heft offered by the ash body wings. The bass weighs 9lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation.
