Up for sale, a circa 1980 Fernandes FFV-70 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a Gibson USA hardshell case. This Fernandes dates to the “Stone logo” era of production, used from 1977-81 and signifying the partnership between Fernandes and Tokai. This period of Fernandes production is praised for its craftsmanship, and this FFV-70 faithfully captures the look and tone of a circa 1967 Flying V.
With mahogany body/neck construction and a rosewood fretboard, the FFV-70 offers great natural midrange warmth and growl, providing an ideal platform for the pair of L-8005 humbuckers. Wound at ~8k ohms, these pickups have defined lows and smooth trebles. The bridge is more focused and aggressive, and the neck has a woody, percussive chop. This FFV-70 weighs 7lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
