Up for sale, a 1980 Fender Telecaster Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and all hangtags. 100% original save for the nut and saddle screws (both included), this is one of the very last Telecaster Deluxes produced before the model was discontinued in '81. This Tele weighs 9lbs 5oz, and tonewoods include an ash body and one-piece maple neck, loaded with Seth Lover-designed CuNiFe Wide Range humbuckers.
As the architect of the original Gibson "PAF" humbucker, Seth Lover subsequently made his mark on Fender with the Wide Range pickup, a unique humbucker constructed using individually slotted and threaded pole pieces made from CuNiFe (copper-nickel-iron) magnets. The result is a pickup that has Fender's signature sparkle and cut, yet with the added warmth and fullness of a humbucker. This is a punchy, powerful-sounding instrument with a clear, percussive quality in every pickup position and the midrange presence of ash as a tonewood. This Telecaster Deluxe benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The Natural finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, exhibiting some muting of the gloss on the back and lower bout perimeter from contact with the case lining, and a bit of shallow strap-related wear just south of the belly carve as well. There’s an area of shallow buckle wear central to the waist, and additional minor dings and scuffs from use. The gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth, with some mottling of the clear coat (cosmetic and cannot be felt) on the treble side of the carve.
The original molded Fender hardshell case is included, along with all of the Fender/Yamano-branded hangtags, as this Tele was originally marketed in Japan via Fender's distributor Yamano. The case retains all of its functional latches and handle, and there is a melted spot on one edge of the lid.
