Up for sale, a 1980 Fender Stratocaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Produced at Fender's Fullerton, CA factory late in the "CBS" era of production, this Stratocaster features a three-piece ash body with a distinctive two-tone Sunburst indicative of the era.

At 9lbs 14oz, this Stratocaster has plenty of natural sustain, cut and punch, with the glassy snap of the one-piece maple neck complimented by the midrange heft and note attack of the ash body. One of the very first Strats to feature the molded black plastic bobbins first seen in '80, these pickups have flush mounted alnico pole pieces. The five-way pickup selector yields everything from sparkling, percussive cut to sweet, bold tonalities with the neck pickup singled out. This Strat has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The gloss two-tone Sunburst finish exhibits a couple tiny spots of touch-up on the back of the bass-side body horn and edge of the belly carve, in addition to light finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole, and pick scuffing across the strum path. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss, which has some visual mottling on the treble side of the carve. There is light wear on the treble side of the fingerboard in the upper registers, and palm wear through the gloss on the fretboard edges.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
