Up for sale, a 1980 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This quintessential late CBS-era Strat features an ash body, U-shaped neck profile, sleek gloss Sunburst finish with all-black plastics, gray bobbin single coil pickups, and a hardtail bridge with block saddles.
Naturally resonant and punchy at 9lbs 1oz, this Strat offers great natural midrange and a lively, broad frequency cut, with the added sustain and overall stability of the hardtail bridge. The flat pole alnico magnet pickups are notably jangly and sparkling, particularly at the bridge and the “in-between” settings on the five-way switch, which yield a slinky quack and cut. The neck pickup has a fuller bark and a smooth treble response. This Hardtail Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
