Up for sale, a 1980 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail in near-mint condition, finished in Antigua and complete with the original molded hardshell case. With an ash body and maple neck with a deep U-shaped profile carve, this Strat offers great natural midrange punch, tight low end cut and great treble sparkle via the trio of flat pole alnico magnet pickups. These gray bobbin pickups are notably jangly, qualities accentuated by the hardtail bridge, particularly snappy at the bridge and the “in-between” settings on the five-way switch, which yield a slinky quack and cut. The neck pickup has a fuller bark and a broad, smooth treble response. This Stratocaster weighs 10lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
