This short-scale Fender bass features an ash body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard, loaded with the original gray bobbin single coil pickup. Offering more midrange heft and treble grind than earlier examples which used other tonewoods for the body, this ash-bodied Musicmaster delivers focused upper midrange, treble growl and present, taut low end punch. This Musicmaster weighs 8lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Black finish exhibits limited broad checking, and there is some finish touch-up on top just south of the bridge. Cosmetic wear includes a decently sized finish chip on the outer edge of the treble-side body horn, light buckle rash on the back, and various dings and scuffs on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss, with several shallow marks along the profile length that have no impact on playability.
