Up for sale, a 1980 Boss PH-1 Phaser in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The original Boss compact phaser pedal, this PH-1 has the pedals earliest features, with a silver screw for the battery compartment and inked serial number above the switch (also in the battery compartment).
This phaser offers incredibly lush, undulating swooshes. The Rate control has a particularly wide range from 100ms to 16 seconds, and the Depth is very responsive for subtle effects to dynamic swells.
The pedals has just a few scuffs and small chips on the enclosure, the original knobs are intact, and the black silkscreen graphics are well-kept. The black foil “Made in Japan” label is present, and the inked serial number in the battery compartment dates the pedal to July, 1980.
