1980 Aria Pro II Vintage Double Neck SG, 6 & 12 String Guitar Cherry w/ Case, Japan Matsumoku

Up for sale, a 1980 Aria Pro II double neck in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This non-catalog, faithful Japanese-made iteration of Gibson’s EDS-1275 was produced at the Matsumoku factoryThis Aria Pro II features mahogany set neck construction, and at 11lbs 8oz, it dishes out plenty of natural sustain and resonance, with the midrange warmth and growl inherent in mahogany as a tonewood. The stock humbuckers are sweet and singing, with snappy, responsive lows, pristine highs, and slightly scooped mids for optimal articulation. This Aria Pro II has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fresh strings, low action, and accurate intonation.Both necks have medium C-shaped profile carves with well-rounded shoulders. The 6-string neck is a hair more slender overall, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .975” at the 12th, while the 12-string neck measures .860” deep at the 1st fret and .980” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboards feature split parallelogram inlays and practically perfect medium jumbo fretwire. The scale length is 24 3/4“, and the nuts measure 1 11/16” in width. On the headstocks, the stock chrome-plated tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch.All of the electronics work as intended, with the three-way toggle between the necks governing pickup selection, and the toggle on the treble side body horn switching between the necks.  The hardware is notably clean, including the Tune-o-matic bridges and tailpieces. Plastics comprise the original quartet of black speed knobs and the dual three-ply black pickguards.Cosmetic wear on the gloss Cherry finish includes a number of minor dings along the lower bout edge, and a few areas of cloudiness in the clear coat of the gloss (particularly around the bridge pickups and on the back of the headstocks). The smooth gloss on the neck profiles is flawless.The original hardshell case with form-fit interior is included.
