Up for sale, a 1979 Greco SV800 Super View in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A premium, top-tier Greco offering crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan, this rare SV800 is essentially a Greco-branded version of the earliest Ibanez Artstar guitars (produced at the same factory as those instruments), with a 15 1/2” lower bout width, semi-hollow construction, Gibraltar bridge and tailpiece, and a pair Maxon-made PU-2 humbuckers.
Tonewoods include curly white sycamore top, back and sides with a maple centerblock, a three-piece maple neck, and a bound rosewood fingerboard. The Maxon-made PU-2 humbuckers are wound firmly in the PAF-style camp, delivering the airy warmth and smooth articulation of that iconic pickup, with those qualities naturally accentuated by the semi-hollow construction. The bridge yields a focused cut, while the neck is open-sounding and woody.
