Up for sale, a 1979 Greco EG800 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan, this “lawsuit era” Greco predates the highly lauded Super Real series of instruments by less than a year; inspired by Ace Frehley’s iconic ‘73 Les Paul Custom, this Greco features a trio of Maxon-made humbuckers, ‘70s-spec tonewoods, and a gloss Red (Cherry) Sunburst finish accented by gold hardware.

Taking a page from Gibson's 1970s playbook, tonewoods include a two-piece carved maple top over a sandwich mahogany body, paired with a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. At 9lbs 8oz, this Greco dishes out ample natural sustain with a sensitivity to pick attack, qualities that are translated faithfully through the trio of Maxon-made U-2000 humbuckers. These pickups feature Alnico V magnets and are articulate and warm, with good growl and punch, responding well to thick overdrive and delivering an open, dynamic response. This EG800 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
