1979 ESP Navigator EG-11 SG Vintage Electric Guitar Walnut, Japan Kasuga

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 1979 Navigator EG-11 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Built by Kasuga for ESP’s Navigator brand, the Navigator SGs are considered by many to be a high watermark for the “lawsuit” era of Japanese production, faithfully capturing the look and feel of a genuine early ‘70s SG Standard.

Tonewoods include a solid African mahogany body, quartersawn African mahogany neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, and this guitar has plenty of natural warmth and midrange growl on tap, qualities faithfully captured by the stock pair of humbuckers. These pickups meter at 11.5k ohms, punchy and full-sounding with a scooped midrange, taking gain notably well. This SG weighs 6lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: African mahogany, quartersawn
-Shape: Chunky C, round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .860” 1st fret, .930” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, trapezoid inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, pristine
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 5/8”
-Tuners: Kluson-style, double ring

Body Specs:

-Wood: Mahogany

The Walnut gloss finish exhibits some minor dings on the body as a whole, most prominent along the lower bout perimeter and on the back, as well as some scuffing on the top along the strum path and light buckle rash across the back. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss, with some shallow indentations from leaning the neck against an amp.

A padded gigbag is included.
