Up for sale, a circa 1978 Yamaki YD-35 in excellent, 100% original condition, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. Founded in 1962 by brothers Yasuyuki and Kazuyuki Teradaira, Yamaki Guitars were best known for producing high-quality instruments that served as affordable high-end alternatives to Martin acoustics, crafted in Japan and distributed exclusively by Daion Co., LTD. Clearly taking its design cues from Martin’s D-28, this Yamaki features a soft V neck profile carve, two-piece rosewood back, rosewood sides, and an X-braced spruce top. This YD-35 weighs 4lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-52 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Nato
-Shape: Soft V (medium depth), measuring .855” 1st fret, 1.025” 9th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, ornate inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, light wear on 1-4
-Scale Length: 25.2”
-Nut: 1 11/16”
