Up for sale, a 1978 Greco SS500 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted at the Fujigen factory during the “lawsuit era” of Japanese guitar production, this Greco captures the zeitgeist of a Gibson SG, loaded with the original pair of Maxon U-1000 humbuckers.
The agathis body has mahogany veneers on the front and back, paired with a one-piece mahogany neck, and a rosewood fretboard. The Maxon U-1000 humbuckers feature Alnico 8 magnet construction, delivering midrange bark and cut, clear treble growl, and round low end. This Greco SS500 weighs 7lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
