1978 Fender Vibro Champ Vintage Silverface Tube Amp Class A w/ Footswitch

Up for sale, a 1978 Fender Vibro Champ in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. One of Fender's purest circuits, the Vibro Champ's Class A design delivers five all tube watts of clear, chiming cleans and raucous, sizzling drive with a twist of the Volume knob. This Vibro Champ breaks up nicely too, sounding positively huge with a mic in front of it. The Vibrato has a nice pulse and chop, and this amp is a studio and apartment-friendly combo that delivers a dynamic, sparkling vintage Fender sound. The circuit is practically untouched save for a single resistor and capacitor, and all components have been tested, ensuring optimal performance. The original Schumacher-made transformers date to '78, and all of the original CTS pots are intact. The tube complement includes an Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tube along with modern 12AX7s and a 5Y3 rectifier tube. The speaker is a modern USA-made Weber 8" alnico magnet driver which offers better articulation, wattage handling and perceived volume than the stock 8" speakers used in the Vibro Champ in this era. The original tube chart is intact inside the cabinet as well. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe is intact and remarkably clean, and the faceplate is positively gleaming with clean turquoise text and the full complement of witch hat knobs. The original hardware is intact including the handle caps, chassis straps, sphinx glides (feet), and raised logo. A footswitch to engage the vibrato is included.
