1977 Ibanez Rocket Roll Sr 2387 Flying V Vintage Guitar, 100% Original w/ Super 70, Case

Up for sale, a 1977 Ibanez Rocket Roll Sr model 2387 Flying V in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. One of the more unique and rare "lawsuit era" instruments produced at the beginning of one of Japan's most storied periods of guitar production, the Rocket Roll Sr replicates Gibson's original circa 1958 Flying V design with superb build quality.

Made in the famed Fujigen factory, the Rocket Roll Sr is featherweight at 6lbs 15oz with an ash body and three-piece maple neck, yielding a natural acoustic quality with a complex midrange character, clear note attack and plenty of punch. Sensitive to picking dynamics, the original pair of Maxon-made Super 70 humbuckers are wound in the vein of a Gibson PAF, bright and clear with an underlying warmth. The bridge pickup has more bite and growl, while the neck pickup is fat and smooth, retaining a certain edge. This Rocket Roll Sr has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
