Up for sale, a 1977 Greco EG800PB in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “lawsuit era” Greco was crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan, designed as a faithful recreation of Peter Frampton’s iconic “Phenix” triple-pickup Black Beauty Les Paul Custom, famously seen on the cover of (and heard on) Frampton Comes Alive!

The tonewood complement comprises a mahogany body with a maple top, maple neck, and ebony fingerboard, and this EG800PB weighs 10lbs 5oz. The original trio of Maxon-made U-2000 humbuckers feature Alnico V magnets; these pickups are articulate and warm, with treble-centric growl and sweet sustain, responding well to thick overdrive. Medium output, these humbuckers have a punchy quality, responsive to pick attack, and the central pickup is wired in-phase for an extra full middle position tone. This Greco EG800PB has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
