Up for sale, a 1977 Gibson Les Paul Standard in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. From the first year the Les Paul Standard was officially reintroduced to Gibson's catalog lineup, this guitar is loaded with a pair of T-Top humbuckers.
Tonewoods include a three-piece carved maple cap with well-matched seams, a "sandwich" mahogany body, and three-piece maple neck capped with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Bold and authoritative acoustically, the guitar is a lighter weight example from this era, weighing only 9lbs 8oz. The original T Top humbuckers are quite dynamically responsive to pick attack, with a clear treble growl, taut low end and a sweet midrange character. The neck pickup has a bold bark, while the bridge pickup has more upper midrange snarl and cut. This Les Paul Standard benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The three-piece maple top has extremely well-matched seams, with a light speckling of birdseye and quilt figuring behind the bridge on top. The nitro lacquer Tobacco Sunburst gloss finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, exhibiting buckle rash across the back and various dings along the back body edge. Wear on top is much more restrained, with a few pinhead-sized nicks and pick scuffing across the strum path. The gloss is very smooth on the neck profile, worn to a semi-gloss through play, with light palm wear down to the bare maple on the profile shoulders. There is checking along the neck binding, and a couple repaired splits in the binding on the treble side.
A modern brown tolex Gibson hardshell case is included.
