Up for sale, a 1977 Gibson Les Paul Pro in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a "chainsaw" hardshell case and augmented with a Bigsby B7 vibrato. The Pro model was short-lived, and this vintage Gibson has a feature set roughly mirroring a 1956 Les Paul Standard, with a pair of clear bobbin P-90 single coil pickups that absolutely roar.

These pickups take full advantage of the time-tested tonewood combination of a solid mahogany body and carved maple top, articulating the attack of maple as well as the warm, thick growl of the mahogany. Additionally, the uncommon ebony fretboard gives the guitar a glassy treble snap that works well with the midrange-forward character of the P-90s. The guitar weighs a particularly hearty 11lbs 13oz, dishing out plenty of sustain and sonic authority with a strong bark when strummed acoustically. We've had this Les Paul Pro professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The instrument presents very well, and the Ebony nitro lacquer finish has been polished to a high gloss. There are a couple localized spots of light buckle wear on the back, and a few finish chips along the back body edge. Wear is otherwise limited to some scattered minor marks and light finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole, consistent with decades of careful use. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.

A vintage Gibson "chainsaw" molded hardshell case with red plush interior is included.
