Up for sale, a 1977 Electro Harmonix Big Muff V4 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Produced concurrently with the V3 (and V5!), this early USA-made V4 Muff is unique for utilizing op-amps instead of transistors to achieve the roar and midrange scooped sizzle for which these pedals are known. An aggressive and powerful fuzz, the op-amp Big Muffs are perhaps best known for their extensive use by Smashing Pumpkins.
The pedal features the EH1322 circuit, and the original IC chip pair is intact, comprising a UA741TC and an RC4558RB. The trio of original CTS pots date to the 48th week of 1977. The polished aluminum enclosure retains all of the original bold graphics and shows only very minor pitting and edge wear. The trio of original knobs is also intact.
