Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 1977 Ampeg SVT tube bass amplifier head, freshly serviced and boasting a matched sextet of Groove Tubes 6550 power tubes. Ampeg debuted the Super Vacuum Tube "SVT" amplifier in the summer of ‘69 at the Chicago N.A.M.M. convention. This amp was a milestone design, pushing 300 watts of all-tube power specifically geared for larger venues, cementing its place in the live world as the go-to backline stage rig. A vintage USA-made example with black line cosmetics, this SVT has been serviced and maintained to play its best, with rich, authoritative, articulate low end, ample warmth, and distinctly smooth Ampeg tone.

This SVT boasts a modern matched sextet of 6550 Groove Tubes power tubes, and the preamp tubes are all matched Groove Tubes valves as well, save for one vintage Sylvania tube. The amp has been serviced as needed, with all voltages and capacitors checked to ensure a reliable, gig-worthy platform. The Electrical Windings Company power transformer and filament transformer have date codes from 1977, and the original output transformer is intact as well.

The head retains its original smooth black tolex and a new blue sparkle grill frame furnished by Fliptops. There is modest edge wear on the enclosure, and the aluminum faceplate retains all of the original knobs and the distinct black line screen print graphics.
